Mortalitab displays a rectangle on your new tab page, with one dark pixel for every hour you've already lived and one light pixel for every hour you have remaining, based on your birthday. The flashing white square represents the current hour, reminding you of the preciousness of this instant in your life.
With Mortalitab, you can see a countdown to your death and visualize the passing of time. Each dark gray pixel represents an hour you have lived, while each light gray pixel represents an hour you can expect to live, based on actuarial tables.
This add-on also serves as a non-gender-specific reminder that despite your accomplishments, you are just a human being, and death is inevitable for all of us.
